The canton of Lucerne ranks 6th of the 22 cantons with largely complete parcel data by total parcel area. Of its 78 municipalities with parcel data, Luzern (9’322), Kriens (4’957) and Emmen (3’964) have the most parcels, which together hold 15% of the canton's parcels.

The median parcel in the canton measures 1’199 m², larger than the Swiss median of 870 m². The canton is more built-up than Switzerland as a whole: 63.1% of its parcels have a building, against 52% nationwide. Among its municipalities with at least 500 parcels, Luzern has the highest share of built parcels (81.2%) and Ufhusen the lowest (38.9%). Luthern has the largest median parcel (6’887 m²) and Buchrain the smallest (700 m²).
