About the canton of Uri

The canton of Uri ranks 19th of the 22 cantons with largely complete parcel data by number of parcels and 8th by total parcel area. Of its 19 municipalities with parcel data, Altdorf (UR) (2’277), Schattdorf (1’810) and Silenen (1’627) have the most parcels, which together hold 31.4% of the canton's parcels.

The median parcel in the canton measures 743 m², about the same as the Swiss median of 870 m². The canton is more built-up than Switzerland as a whole: 68.3% of its parcels have a building, against 52% nationwide. Among its municipalities with at least 500 parcels, Attinghausen has the highest share of built parcels (79.9%) and Realp the lowest (28.2%). Spiringen has the largest median parcel (2’198 m²) and Altdorf (UR) the smallest (619 m²).
